This means we ask you to treat others with the same amount of respect that you would want from them.
Bullying & Harassment
Bullying can take many different forms and can include one person or a group.
What is bullying?
Bullying is unwanted behaviour that you can find upsetting, offensive or unacceptable. Any type of bullying or harassment is not acceptable at YMCA Derbyshire, particularly if it is due to:
- Race, ethnic origin, nationality or skin colour
- Gender
- Sexual orientation
- Exclusion of ex-offenders
- HIV status
- Health
- Physical appearance
- Personal beliefs
- Disabilities
Behaviour that is unwelcome and unpleasant will also count as bullying. This could include:
- Physical contact
- Offensive jokes/language/gossip
- Posters/graffiti/ rude gestures
- Peer pressure
The above are examples of behaviour likely to cause offence and is not a complete list.
The YMCA Derbyshire Learning and Development service will not allow behaviour that would be seen as bullying or harassment.
Any person found to be behaving in this way will be disciplined following the guidelines contained in the Disciplinary procedures.
If you have a complaint about another trainee, you should inform your tutor or another member of staff.
If there is a problem, we want to deal with it quickly and fairly. Your tutor or another member of staff will need to discuss this with you.
Any complaint made about another learner may result in disciplinary action.
